Suit of Swords Tarot Card for Zodiac Signs
The Cups suit is still all the rage, but today we're diving into the most—and most heart-wrenching—suit in the Tarot: the Swords suit!
The Cups are all about tenderness and affection, but the Swords are more like a nice, fresh breeze, with a sharp edge of rationality. They can help you cut through the confusion, but they might also accidentally wound one another. Today, I'm going to take you on a comprehensive journey through this deck, which is full of wisdom and conflict, so we can experience the power of the Air element together!
What Do Swords Represent In Tarot
In Tarot, the Swords tarot suit is one of the four elemental suits. It corresponds to the element of Air. It is also connected to the zodiac signs Libra, Aquarius, and Gemini.
Air is all about thought, communication, reason, and change. It's like it's part of the air we breathe. You can't see it, but it's all around us. It has a big effect on how we think, make decisions, and get on with other people. Most of the cards in the Swords suit have dark backgrounds. These often show scenes of conflict, separation, or feeling disconnected. The themes focus on "problems, conflict, and decision-making".
In traditional interpretations, tarot cards with swords are often seen as representing "chaos, harm, strife, and pain", showing the cold and harsh side of being too rational. But it also has some great strengths, like the wisdom to solve problems, the courage to face the truth, and the decisiveness to think calmly.
But remember that being too rational and calm can also make you lose the ability to empathise. This can make you seem distant, indifferent, or even like you're using logic to hurt others.
The Swords suit has 14 cards (just like the Wands and Cups suits): The Ace of Swords represents new beginnings, the Ten of Swords represents endings and rebirth, and the Page, Knight, Queen, and King of Swords represent different aspects of the mind. So, the deck shows the whole journey of "thoughts from start to finish, and conflicts from start to finish".
